A proper tragedy what we’ve allowed them to do to us
There’s a law for the rich, far more for the poor
And they’re taking it all, they’ve just got to have more
No morality: the despotism of the strong

Strong men are what we want, the weak trodden underfoot

They live, they rule our lives
They live out in plain sight

Their rapacity knows no bounds or checks
Their voracity will drive us to the edge
And we hand them the power, time and again
The keys to the castle on a gilded chain
It’s insanity and it will prove to be our end

Dark times are here, my friend, hold tight while we descend

The brutality of the system’s evident
The criminality of their conduct manifest
Yet they’re feted and honoured, adorned with all
Our tawdry baubles and awards
In the fallacy they’re doing it for the best

Well, yeah, what’s best for them, feeding on the mayhem
