lyrics

Well, there’s this woman, she plays bass guitar.
A psychodrama, I still wear the battle-scars.
We had great moments,
But goddamned awful hours in between.

We went travelling on a racing bike.
All over Europe so, well, what’s not to like?
Those days were special.
We hoped the summer wasn’t going to end.

But nothing lasts forever,
We end up back in the same place again.

I go out drinking and lose my mind.
Keeps me from thinking, lets me unwind.
But the next day finds me,
Blinking hard into the midday sun.

The last laugh’s on the world
And I’m back to where the last day had begun.

And here you’ll find me, sat with my guitar.
Putting my life on tape, the booze the battle scars.
I’ve had my moments,
I try not to give a damn about it all.

'Cos nothing lasts forever,
And now I’m back in the same place again.
